130212 - 180212

Yet another week has passed, yet another busy week. It feels like the weeks just go quicker and quicker. It's nearly the end of February already! And I still haven't recovered from Christmas or started any of my New Years resolutions. I do have some highlights from the week that just passed, lunch with Nick who I haven't seen for over 6 months, realised that 1 hours lunch is definitely not enought time to catch up when you haven't seen each other for that long, gig night at the Brunswick, dinner with Em and Dave, dinner and boardgame night at Clare's and Craig's. Today I'm preparing myself for yet another busy week with 'beer-can chicken', watching the half marathon, a walk to Devil's dyke and some album making - the perfect Sunday!
Valentine's day singing at Lucky Voice with Lucy, James and Jake
Dave has just asked Costa to be his best man when they get married in Santorini next year!
Costa is beating us big time!

Enjoy the sunshine!

Bloody Sunday nights!

Sunday evening, the most depressing time of the week, especially when you've been on holiday. I've just got to the point when I've realised I actually have to go to work tomorrow, the weekend is officially over...I have to go to work tomorrow! The alarm is gonna go off at 6:30am, I will probably snooze for about an hour, drag myself to the bathroom, splash some water in my face, brush my teeth (still half asleep), try and find something smart and comfortable to wear, put some make up on my face and hopefully have time for a cup of tea. I will most likley rush up and down the stairs a few times cos I've forgot something and end up being late cos I can't get into the bike shed at work. Oh yes! Who doesn't love a Monday morning huh? Ok, the moan is over.

Before I got to this very depressing state I actually had a really nice Sunday. Watched 'the Help', took a walk on the seafront in to town, tidied up the flat, had Valle and Dave over for dinner and watched 'Cowboys and Aliens'. We enjoyed a stir fry and laughed at all our pics from Friday's party! Realised Valle is pulling the most amazing faces in the background of half the pictures, we were all in tears of laughter! Brilliant!

Let's celebrate!

Love, live music, dancing, drinks, pictures, laughter and great friends!

Emma's and Dave's engagement party turned into a success! Live music was delivered by Rough Tongue and The Jamons, everyone was in their best mood and up for a good night and to celebrate the happy couple. We danced and sang our way towards the morning with lovely friends and finished of the evening with 'falukorv' and 'snabbmakaroner'!
Give it up for Rough Tongue and the Jamons!

Thank you for hosting a brilliant night!

Lovely ladies

Thursday night - our last night in Sweden, was spent with some of my dearest friends. We all live different lives on different places and we all are at different stages in life, however when we meet it's like we've never been apart. We laugh, we chat, we remember, we care, we love spending time together. It's not often we actually are at home at the same time so it was brilliant that we all happened to be in Lidköping at the same time on Thursday evening. We had so much to talk about, memories, experiences, happy things, sad things, our love life, work and Uni, future plans, parties, books we've read and people we've met. Thanks girls for a lovely evening!

Wizzing down the slopes!

On Friday last week we started our trip to Sälen via Stansted airport, Gothenburg and Lidköping.
Arrived safely and on time even if we travelled with Ryanair (!), spent a day at my parents before we all packed ourselfs into the Volvo and travelled north, picked up Mattias on the way and continued to our chalet. Skiing was great! The weather was perfect and the slopes perfect! Costa did well as a first time skier, check out the video! It was lovely to have some quality time with my family, relax, ski, celebrate my dad's birthday and see my friends. Got back to the UK yesterday afternoon, unpacked, had dinner and changed into the party outfits - ready for Emma's and Dave's engagement party!

Say what? Holiday! Again?

OH YES! HOLIDAY!

We're off to Sweden for a week of skiing, snow, quality time with the family and relaxing!

Since Easyjet has stopped flying from Gatwick to Gothenburg we are making our way to Stansted (yay!) tonight.  I can tell you that it's a mission and a half to get to Stansted when your flight is at 7am and you don't want to take National Express. After discussing our options back and forth we agreed that the best one is to go to Stansted today and stay at a hotel over night, so that's what we are doing. Packing the last bits now and are gonna head off to the station in a bit.
Looking forward to a week of skiing and fun!

Burger night

Emma's birthday is coming up next week so we went out for some pub grub with some friends on Wednesday. Nice to catch up and have some quality time together. We got her a little girly purse and a victoria sponge cake with loads of sparklers! Had a lovely evening with the Jamons!
I definitely recommend 2 for 1 on burgers at the Westbourne!

Sunday roast

Met up with some of our lovely friends for roast at the Hampton Arms on Sunday, as you all might know the Hampton Arms is one of my favourite places for a roast and I did not get disappointed this time either! Plates of delicious pork, beef and chicken trimmed with all the vegetables you want were servered to us and we spent the afternoon in the pub just chatting, catching up and relaxing. Sundays in the pub is the best! A group of friends a glas of red and a roast, sorted! Jo's daughter Finny had the best answer when Lucy asked her what she thought about boys 'Put them in the bin'! Then she leaned over and whispered 'Girls win boys in the bin'! Finished of the evening with darts at the Montpelier and pub quiz at the Windmill.

Do it like a dude!

Mattias and Louise came over for a week full of going out, eating out, shopping, birthday celebrations, kareoke and much more! They arrived on Wednesday last week, we started of their stay with some tapas at Las Iguanas, dinner at ours in the evening and drinks at the Wick Inn, what was planned to be a quite drink turned into a 'mini' pubcrawl and ended up staying out way too late for a school night. Both me and Costa were hanging when we had to get up and go to work on Thursday, however after a powernap were we ready for Mattias's birthday dinner at Krua Anne, drinks at the Dorset and a three hours kareoke session at Lucky Voice! Tunes like Mmmbop, Living on a prayer, We built this city, Maneater, Basket case and Valery were sung like we were professionals (?!). Luckily I had Friday off, went for lunch at Pho and strolled around town. In the evening we had Costa's birthday party at ours and then drinks in The Robin Hood. We managed to squiz 43 people in to our living room, impressive! Had a great night at the Robin Hood with lovely friends, ended up back at ours, ate the birthday cake and chatted our way to the morning. we did have big plans for Saturday, however we were all way to hanging to even get out of the house. So instead of dinner out and going out clubbing we re-ceiled the bath, rented a movie and stuffed our faces with tacos. To be honest, after three nights out in a row it was quit nice! Met up with some of our lovely friends at the Hampton Arms for a roast on Sunday, spent all day there, eating, drinking and catching up. Unfortunately reality caught up with me on Sunday eve and I realised I actually had to go to work on Monday...Depressing thought after such a good weekend! Met up with Mattias and Louise in town, went to some shops, went home made tapas and passed on the sofa! Thanks for a brilliant week dudes!

The calm after the storm

After a bit over two weeks with people staying with us we finally have our flat back! There is not 5 billion towels in the bathroom, the hallway is not rammed with shoes, the living room is not covered in matresses, quilts, suitcases, bags, clothes and the kitchen does not look like a tip! It's amazing! I can just sit here, on my own, listen to music just as load as I want to, not talk to anyone, not get ready to go out, just be...Be here in my comfy sofa!
