Swenglish Midsummer celebrations

We didn't have any pickled herring and unfortunately not a May pole, however we did have flowers in our hair, a Swedish buffet, silly games and more fun that you can ever imagine! A lovely night with amazing friends who made Midsummer 2012 unforgettable.

He did it!

About a month ago Costa decided to do the London to Brighton bikeride. With hardly no training he headed up to London last Saturday, stayed in a hostel that looked like prison cell and charged his batteries with pizza and bananas. Got up at 5am in the morning and started his journey to Brighton at 8am. I met Clare and Craig and we headed down to the finish line to support him when he arrived to Brighton. 4 h 1 min it took him, great effort! Rolled in not even sweaty and ready for a roast! We spent the afternoon at the Hampton Arms, had a roast and got sun burned.

Surprise visit!

I had the most amazing weekend! Marina came over for a visit, which was great in itself, however the fact that Mattias came over for a surprise made an already great weekend even better! Started of the weekend with dinner at Krua Anne, continued the evening at Bath Arms and finally made a move towards the Wick Inn where we were going to met Costa and James, at least that is what I thought. Got there, and guess what? Mattias sits there, just chilling! I couldn't believe it! Didn't know if I was going to laugh or cry! Had a great night though and ended up at ours and danced to Loreen all night. Saturday was a bit of a lazy one, watch a move and just took it easy. Went to Las Iguanas for dinner in the evening and met up with some friends and went to the Haunt and danced to 80's tunes all night. Sunday was spent shopping, walking in the rain and we finished the day off with a roast at the Windmill and movie night. All in all, the best weekend I've had in a long time!

Let's celebrate, Clare has turned 25...again!

Everyone is not as lucky as granny when it comes to birthdays, celebrations started on Wednesday with pizzas and quiz at the station pub and continued on Friday with girly dinner and drinks at the Lion and Lobster. There is something special about birthdays, everyone gets in a great mood, dresses up, buys presents and celebrates dear friends, family members, colleauges or random people they've just met. A day that is all about this one particular person, one person who gets spoiled, one person who gets to feel special. Happy Birthday dearest Clare!

Hendricks gin splash, Sabi and Frankenstein

Sunday 13th May

Started off the day with a bikeride to the Marina and ended up in the middle of London to Brighton mini race and too many Morrison dancers! A very interesting mixture of feathers, engines, leather, colours and instruments! Ventured in to town to meet up with friends for lunch, due to them being late we ended up in the Hendricks gin garden at Jubilee Square, the garden and the theathre was set up as a part of Brighton festival. It offered everything from strawberry gin punch and sunshine to 20's outfits and old fashioned bikes. The minutes passed, the hours past, two hours passed...More gin punch, more Hendricks and finally Valle and Dave turned up after a day full of shopping and prepping for their honeymoon. Ended up having an early dinner at Sabai, Thai food and Singha - a combination you can't beat! After dinner it was time to head back to the Hendricks garden to enjoy a three piece Frankenstein play and the Ogden sisters' seance. Both of the plays offered tons of laughter, interesting quotes, amazing acting, intimacy and fabulous customes!
Enjoying the sunshine and the gin punch
