The perfect hungover cure...

...a home made roast!

Have spent today doing pretty much nothing. Woke up late, went for a coffee with Rachel and Gavin, went home and due to yesterday's alcohol consumption I had to position myself on the sofa yet again. For some absurd reason Costa was full of energy and not hungover at all so he, awesome as he is, made me the best ever roast and now I feel like new again!

White night

We started off with tacos at ours before we joined the rest of Brighton's population in town around 10pm. Made our way towards Waggon and Horse, spotted Dolly Parton singing on a balcony, bumped in to a bunch of zombies and watched a silent cinema with facial expressions before we managed to actually get to the pub and order a drink. Brighton was changed in to a cultural art centre for one night and everyone decided to go out and explore this event. We ventured towards the Dome, participated in a game show, blind dating and ended up in Utopia where all of us were covered in glitter and Dave, Costa and Terese played us some tunes. Bumped in to a rather happy granny and some other friends before we continued to Pav Tav. We were expecting gigs in there, however no gigs so instead we enjoyed a few more drinks before heading to the seafront. We were hoping to get in to one of the clubs on the seafront, however they were all full or already shut. After queuing for ages we managed to get a taxi and headed back to ours, laughed at people on chat roulette, had a midnight snack and planned our costumes for next week before going to bed. An exciting, fun, weird and awesome evening.

A return ticket to Sweden

The trip to Sweden was amazing, great, awesome and way to short. I didn't have time to do half the things I wanted and I didn't have time to see half the people I wanted to see. Stayed with Mattias in Gothenburg on the Thurs, went out for dinner and drinks with friends and finished off the eve at Linné. Met my parents in Skövde on Friday, went for a lovely lunch at Restaurant Glädjen and went shopping, stopped by my Grandma's in Falköping on the way home and managed to squeeze in an amazing prawn sandwich and the movie Jägarna 2 before heading home to Majåker, a long, intense but great day.
Started off the Saturday with a visit to the city centre of Lidköping, as exciting as always, went to a few shops and stopped by my mum's auntie. Once again we got back later than expected, ate a typical greasie Swedish pizza and spent the evening sorting out old school books and cleaning my old room. Found loads of old diaries, letters, books and photos. Had an early start on Sunday, went to Spjuth's for a breakfast. It was great to see them again, the kids have grown so much! We played with lego, dolls, drew and played hide and seek. And without noticing I was back at Landvetter airport, reading my Hening Mankell book waiting to board the plane that was gonna take me back to the UK. Short but sweet...
I always feel like I don't have enough time when I'm out ther, it feels like I'm not enough. I wanna be everywhere and see everyone, it's like a mission impossible that I need to over win every time.

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures, dragged my camera all the way to Sweden but didn't take a single snap.

Packing - so not my thing!

Red hoody? Black jeans? Five pair of knickers or is four enough? Socks would be good I guess? Do I need a coat? A dress in case I go out? Make up? Presents? Do I need three pairs of shoes?
Oh my I hate packing! Wish my mum was here and helped me.
As you might have figured I'm going to Sweden tomorrow. Staying with Mattias in Gothenburg tomorrow, guess we'll be having dinner and a few drinks, since I'm the visitor he should treat me, right? Hopefully I can meet up with some of my very missed gorgeous friends before I head home to mum and dad in Lidköping as well. I'm just going to be away for four days, however it's going to be amazing! I can't wait! Unfortunately I'll miss the Brighton zombie walk on Saturday though, but who needs a zombie walk when you can be spoiled by mum and dad for a weekend? Anyhow, I best get on with the packing.

Fall is here.

Fall has come to Brighton, it's cold but clear, not too windy but you can feel a breeze, the ballerina shoes has changed to boots and instead of icecream on the beach we're having hot chocolate inside. I have some sort of hate/ love relationship with the fall, we get a long well as long as she is calm and sunny, if she gets moody and starts crying we usually fall out. It's cosy to be inside, cuddle up under a blanket, light candles and wear slippers, however I miss long evenings on the beach, bbqs and shorts. Never happy huh? Today is the first day of the year I actually feel that fall is here, it was still dark when I walked to work this morning, I was cold on my way home even if I wore a coat and the wind is making the windows rattle. I've put on my Pippi Longstocking jumper that my mum made me, a pair of slippers, lit all the candles in the flat, wrapped myself in a blanket and is just about to put on 'The Bridge', a Swedish series that my dad recommended.

Enjoy your Tuesday evening.

Death by Chocolate

Mystery murder night at Southwick manor.

It's 15 April 1900, Easter Sunday, and Paris is the centre of world attention as millions of visitors arrive for the opening this weekend of the International Exposition. Amongst them is an elite but diverse group of individuals staying at the Hotel Paradiso. As they gather for dinner, however, the peace of the hotel is rocked by an explosion. Billy Bonka, the foremost chocolate manufacturer in America, is found dead in his room, having apparently been killed by an exploding Easter Egg. Suspicion falls on the people around this table.

We got together with the Jamons on Saturday for a Mystery murder night. The evening was hosted by Clare and Craig and held at Valle's and Dave's. We received our invites a while ago, however as always Costa and I left it to last minute to find costumes. We ran around Hove on Saturday morning trying to find something to wear. My character was Dr Doris Johnson, an archaeologist specializing in the Aztec culture, I was regarded as being eccentric even in a field populated by eccentrics and Costa's character was Little Fitz - The most sensational cabaret star of the day, he shares his ventriloquist act with his dummy Ziggy. We had an awesome night with lovely Mexican food (probably not what they ate in Paris on Easter year 1900, however very tasty), good friends, laugther, drinks and a mystery to solve.
Little Fitz, Chocolat Bertrand, Dame Barbara Carthorse, Maria Von Schnapps, Dr Sigmund Fraud, Mike Bison, Marchioness Duchamp and Dr Doris Johnson.

I will add some more pictures from the Myster murder night later.

Wedding x2 and sleep over

I love weekends! Especially good ones. And we have had another good weekend!
We started off with lunch at Pho, before heading home and getting ready for the weekends first wedding.
The taxi took us to East Sussex National golf resort & spa at 5:30pm, the venues was lovley and the happy couple looked stunning. We had super expensive drinks, enjoyed the food and danced our way through evening. Back in Brighton, Emma, Dave, Costa and I decided to go for a drink before we headed home, ended up at Three and Ten.

Felt a bit delicate when we woke up on Saturday, but after a few episodes of Fringe and an afternoon nap we were ready to head to wedding number two. We had an amazing night with amazing friends, ate lovely food and danced. The bride and groom looked as beautiful as ever and they hosted a great party! We ended up having a really late night and spent the night at Valle's and Dave's.
Woke up late on Sunday, were treated to breakfast, watched too many movies, drank too many teas and finished off the Sunday evening with a Thai takeaway.

Crazy, stupid, love

At the moment 'O2 moments' offer all customers one free cinema ticket a week so we went and saw Crazy, stupid, love yesterday. Anna told me that is was the kind of movie that puts a smile on your face, the kind of movie that makes you giggle, a real feel good movie. The movie met all our expectations, and it definitely made us giggle! Although, we did have the most annoying people behind us at the cinema, the kind of people that talk all the way through the movie, the kind of people that speak louder when the volume turns up, the kind of people that kicks the back of your chair. If you cannot be quit in the cinema, you might as well watch the movie at home in your own sofa. Moan is over, all in all our Monday cinema experience was good and if anyone wants to see a 'feel-good-movie' Crazy, stupid, love is a good choice.

Busy week a head, seeing Clare tomorrow, shopping dresses for the upcoming weddings, going to two wedding receptions, climbing and working on top of that.

Is it June or October?

Summery dresses, BBQ on the beach, sunshine, 28 degrees, late evenings on the seaside, country side walks, too warm in the flat and bare legs - yes the summer is back.
Or rather, the summer is finally here. I have spent the week outside, enjoying this unexpected heat wave. It's the beginning of October and I've got this summer feeling, the feeling you always get in the beginning of summer, excitement mixed with expectations and hopes for a summer full of sunshine. It feels like June, when you start getting all excited about being able to stay out late with out wearing a cardigan, when you can sit on the beach and dip your toes in the cooling water, it feels like the outdoor climbing season just started, it feels like I should plan midsummer and my birthday...and it's October. Weird but so wonderful!
Martin just came back to Brighton after 4 months in Italy, so we all meet up on the beach for a BBQ and a catch up yesterday. As usual we are too much and sent our first Chinese lantern off.

Time to get ready for a country side walk and a Sunday roast.
